He has also spent the past several years freelancing articles, writing books about entrepreneurs, and covering the technological advancements taking place across the green IT industry.

Highly regarded as both a public speaker and commentator, Brandt has won numerous awards, including a National Magazine Award, Computer Press Association Awards, and Maggie Awards, among others. He was a Knight Science Journalism Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a Science Journalism Fellow with the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
