CUG Summit 2002

The conference in Manchester, UK, will be May 20-24 and all interested parties associated with CUG member sites are invited!

CUG is an independent, international association of member organizations that own or use Cray or SGI computer systems with emphasis on high-performance, technical computing, and visualization.

CUG Summit 2002 will be hosted by the University of Manchester. The CUG Program Committee is committed to a strong technical program for users and administrators of all Cray and high-end SGI platforms.

For example, we will have the privilege of hearing keynote addresses by these well-known visionaries in the HPC arena:

  • Dr. David Burridge, Director of ECMWF, Reading, England
"25 Years of NWP & the impact of HPC with some reminiscences"
  • Dr. Daniel Reed, Director of NCSA, Champaign, Illinois, USA
"Riding the Tiger: Technology Trends and Scientific Breakthroughs"

Surrounding these (and other) featured speakers on Wednesday will be four days packed with valuable technical information and discussion. On Monday and Tuesday we will focus on SGI systems, and then on Thursday and Friday we will focus on Cray systems.

You are welcome to register for just one part of this conference week, but we encourage you to attend it all and learn the latest news and technology from each of CUG's industry partners.

Included in the registration fee are useful tutorials, valuable parallel technical sessions, visualization highlights, and other surprises.
