Cornell Theory CenterCornell Theory Center The Cornell Theory Center (CTC) is a high-performance computing and interdisciplinary research center located on the Ithaca campus of Cornell University. Scientific and engineering research projects supported by CTC represent a variety of disciplines, including biology, behavioral and social sciences, computer science, engineering, geosciences, mathematics, physical sciences, and business. Corporate Partnership ProgramThe CPP - Corporate Partnership Program - provides business and industry the opportunity to conduct proprietary or open research with CTC’s professional staff and over one hundred Cornell faculty affiliates. Research OpportunitiesCollaborative research opportunities are available in many fields, including:
CPP client experience includes Fortune 1000 companies, such as Ford Motor Company, Merck, and Corning, as well as small businesses. Industry-in-ResidenceThe CPP provides an industry-in-residence option for companies that would like to place personnel on the Cornell campus for educational and research explorations or to manage specific projects. Eastman Kodak, Xerox, and Stratus Computer are among the companies that have participated in this program. Teaming OpportunitiesCTC is interested in teaming or serving as a subcontractor to companies and universities pursing or fulfilling federal or private contracts. For example, CTC staff have consulted internationally on systems installations and software development for international oil and automotive companies, and plan to optimize equity portfolios for a major Wall Street firm. In basic biology, CTC, Cornell and its Weill Medical College have teamed with the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and The Rockefeller University in a $160 million project focused on three areas: the analysis of proteins coded by the Human Genome Project, computational biology, and cancer biology.
