The system support group at Caltech's Center for Advanced Computing Research (CACR) is seeking two highly motivated individuals to assist with systems administration support for high-end scientific computing environments. CACR's support group works closely with researchers and vendors to support and enhance computational, networking, storage, and visualization capabilities. Duties include support and enhancement of core servers and services, and core networking (currently including Gigabit Ethernet and 802.1 1b wireless), customization of system software to support key research applications, and support of a multi-national userbase including top researches from industry, government and academia.

Manage/oversee installation and upgrades of new/existing systems. Requirements min. 2 years of professional related experience with UNIX system administration and system administration experience with Sun Solaris, RedHat Linux, sendmail, Apache, NFS, SSH and Perl.

Should also be familiar with tcsh, bash, Python, openLDAP, CGI, Java, C/C++, wu-ftpd, multivendor integration, Network Appliance, OSSPF, NTP, Legato Networker, host-based and network security. Academic computing environment preferred.
