Distinguished Fellows Program
Arctic Region Supercomputing Center
Fairbanks, Alaska
The Arctic Region Supercomputing Center (ARSC) is pleased to announce the
availability of several postdoctoral fellowships for the academic year
starting in September of 2005. Since its inception in 1993, ARSC has served
the computational needs of the University of Alaska and the Department of
Defense (DoD) as a Shared Resource Center within the DoD's High Performance
Computing Modernization Program (HPCMP). The goal of the Fellows program is to
support the most talented young scientists in the early stage of their careers
and to provide an intellectual environment in which they can pursue a research
agenda of their own choosing. Candidates for these fellowships must be
nominated by a university faculty member, or a staff member of a national
laboratory. Review of nominations will begin on February 15, 2005. ARSC will
select a subset of the nominees and contact them for curriculum vitae, letters
of reference, and an outline of proposed research. Finalists will be invited
to ARSC to present a seminar and meet with senior faculty at the University of
Alaska Fairbanks. Successful candidates will be notified by the end of April
2005.
