The Directorate of Information Systems & Services requires a Systems Support Officer to join the Central Systems Group to assist in the support of the server and storage systems that underpin the University's C&IT infrastructure. Duties will initially include assisting in the development and implementation of server backup strategy, maintaining backup systems and maintaining and developing user registration and user management systems.

Applicants should have a degree or relevant further education qualification or a proven track record in server systems support. Practical knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server and Unix server operating systems and their associated network protocols and experience using scripting languages are essential. Experience of the provision of C&IT services to a large community of users in a mixed Windows and Unix environment would be an advantage.
