What is HPCwire?
As a sign of the times, HPCwire - has changed our tag line to more accurately reflect the sentiment and challenge of high-end, data- and computation- intensive computing users. We now refer to the ""P" in HPC as "Productivity."
High Performance Computing, what many are now referring to as the 'old' definition of HPC, was the natural semantic evolution of the 'supercomputing' market, referring to the expanded and diverse range of platforms, from scalable high-end systems to COTS clusters, blade servers and of course the traditional vector supercomputers used to attack the most complex data- and computational-intensive applications. We believe one of the key mega-trends moving forward is the shift in focus towards productivity - or more precisely, how systems and technology are applied. This encompasses everything in the HPC ecosystem, from the development environment, to systems and storage, to the use and interoperability of applications, to the total user experience - all combined to address and solve real world problems.
Our use of HPC refers to High Productivity Computing, and reflects the purpose and use model of a wide range of existing and evolving architectures, and the supporting ecosystem of software, middleware, storage, networking and tools behind the next generation of applications.
We are still known globally as HPCwire - but our tag line has been modified.
HPCwire: The Leading Global Source for News and Information Covering the Ecosystem of High Productivity Computing
HPCwire is the most complete source of news and information covering the global ecosystem of High Productivity Computing, including processors, platforms, clusters, networks, storage, software, tools and applications.
With a powerful combination of direct email distribution and web site access, HPCwire is viewed by several hundred thousand professionals monthly from numerous vertical markets representing commercial, scientific and academic computing.
We started publishing in 1985 as the print newsmagazine named Supercomputing Review and today, Tabor Communications is widely regarded as an electronic publishing pioneer, having launched HPCwire in 1992. Since then, HPCwire has grown in size and stature and today, with a global reach that continues to experience steady growth, HPCwire is now acknowledged around the world as the leading source for global news and information covering the entire ecosystem of High Productivity Computing.
HPCwire is focused on providing advertisers with an innovative vehicle for reaching the desktops of the key high-end computing and IT decision makers. Unlike slow, expensive direct mail or even slower, more expensive print advertising, HPCwire's electronic distribution method and its tightly targeted demographics provide advertisers with a unique vehicle that enables them to reach the most influential HPC engineers, researchers and business executivesacross all pertinent vertical markets.
HPCwire has built lasting, credible relationships with the qualified audience you need to reach most. ADVERTISING OVERVIEW
Sponsorship - Leading Solutions Provider
HPCwire offers two levels of advertising participation. One is our Open Rate, for transient, event-focused companies or those with only tangential market interest. The second is Industry Sponsor Rates, for companies whose sole or major marketing thrust is in the entire worldwide high performance computing industry. Sponsors of HPCwire are assured that their company logo/name and retrievable text will garner 57,000 impressions each week, with a far-reaching pass along circulation. This does not include impressions gained when your company's name and logo are appended to every retrieved editorial item, highlighted in rotation at the top of your Web Edition's Sponsor's First banner, and included in all of our promotional literature. Additionally, Sponsors are entitled to our lowest published rates, approximately one-half that of our Open rates.
Clearly, the greatest opportunity is to become one of HPCwire's recognized Leading Solutions Provider.
Front Page Banner
There is only one Front Page Banner (FPB) in each issue, and its top screen position ensures readership by HPCwire's entire circulation. Up to five lines of headlined text – typically utilized:
- To announce new products and exhibiting news, especially immediately before and after major trade shows.
- For important messages to the market from senior management.
- To announce new business relationships.
- To announce marketing, financial and technical achievements.
- To create high visibility and branding effects.
Features Banner
There is only one Feature Banner per issue and its position, immediately above the Features Section, provides reader visibility only slightly less than that of a Front Page Banner. It is usually utilized for the same reasons as a Front Page Banner but when another advertiser has already scheduled the FPB space.
Cluster Computing, High Performance and Vendor Spotlight Banners
These prominent positions create impact and increase awareness, especially when the section contains profound editorial content pertaining to that advertiser. This is a highly effective way to heighten interest by creating synergy between your key advertising messages and HPCwire editorial.
High Performance Advertising
This is a boxed section midway in the Table of Contents. Advertisements contain one headline and links for retrievable/click-through body copy. Ads run in four consecutive issues. Typically utilized:
- To increase reader awareness of previously published editorial items by extending their exposure for four weeks.
- To extend and reinforce the impact and readership of Front-Page and Feature Banner announcements.
- To give greater visibility to announcements of primary importance to vertical markets within the HPC industry.
Banner Specifications
- FILES: 468x60 pixels, Static or Animated GIF and JPEG formats, Size < 50K.
- Closing deadline for creative materials is each Tuesday at 5:00pm Pacific Time.
