- Cray Inc. announced that Helmut Schmidt University (HSU), Hamburg,
Germany, is the first European organization to place an order for a
Cray XD1 supercomputer system.

MISSISSIPPI, SGI TO DELIVER STATE-WIDE SUPERCOMPUTING
- The Mississippi Center for Supercomputing Research (MCSR) has acquired
a 64-processor SGI Altix system from Silicon Graphics to significantly

- Intel, in a significant milestone, has built fully functional 70-
megabit static random access memory (SRAM) chips with more than half a
billion transistors using the world's most advanced 65 nanometer (nm)
process technology.

MSC.SOFTWARE, BREMBO TO IMPROVE VPD TOOLS FOR BRAKES
- MSC.Software Corp. and Brembo, a worldwide brake systems provider, have
signed an agreement to develop a customized simulation toolkit, based
