- University of California scientists working at Los Alamos National
Laboratory and at the University of California, Los Angeles have
demonstrated the ability to detect the spin of a single electron in a
standard silicon transistor.

OSC AWARDS CLUSTER TO UNIVERSITY OF TOLEDO
- The Ohio Supercomputer Center (OSC) has awarded a supercomputer cluster
to the University of Toledo (UT) as part of its "Cluster Ohio" program.
Delivered on August 4 to UT's Department of Physics and Astronomy, the
cluster was part of a larger system divided among institutions
statewide.

- Pogo Linux Inc., a leading Linux systems vendor based in Redmond,
Washington, announced a turnkey Beowulf clustering solution, and other
new products.

MYTHIC ENTERTAINMENT USES DELL CLUSTERS FOR GLOBAL GAMING
- Dell announced that Mythic Entertainment, developer and publisher of
the award-winning multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) Dark
Age of Camelot, has standardized on Dell servers, desktops and
notebooks to better serve its customers around the world.
