Derrington is an expert in assessment, design and selection of storage and storage management technologies, including storage area networks, network attached storage, fibre channel, backup/recovery, storage resource management, disk subsystems and storage monitoring technologies and processes. He also is knowledgeable in emerging storage technologies. Prior to joining Appergy, Derrington was senior program director for Meta Group's Server Infrastructure Strategies practice. Marc Farley MARC FARLEY, PRESIDENT

Farley is author of Building Storage Networks, a book many have called the "Bible" of storage networking. His experience covers all aspects of the network storage industry, including software, storage hardware and networking systems. He began his career in network storage in 1991 at Palindrome Corp., a LAN backup and recovery software company. Farley has also worked at Hitachi Data Systems, Crossroads Systems, ConvergeNet and SANcastle Technologies. His roles have included systems engineer, product manager, technology strategist and marketing executive.

Fisch brings more than seven years of experience in the computer industry working in sales, market analysis and positioning, and engineering. He worked at EMC Corp. as a marketing program manager focused on service providers and as a competitive market analyst. Before that, he worked in international channel development, manufacturing and technical support at Extended Systems Inc.

John Webster JOHN WEBSTER, SENIOR ANALYST & PARTNER

Webster is responsible for directing Data Mobility Group's ongoing research and analysis in data and storage management. Prior to founding Data Mobility Group, he was senior analyst and IT advisor for Illuminata Inc., where he established and developed the company's storage-related market research and analysis practice. Prior to Illuminata, Webster was VP of marketing for Storage Computer Corp., director of computing research at the Yankee Group and senior analyst at the Clipper Group and International Data Corp.

Dianne McAdam DIANNE MCADAM, SENIOR ANALYST & PARTNER

McAdam is responsible for Data Mobility Group's research and advisory services for topics such as replication technology, business continuance and networked storage. With more than three decades as a data center director, educator, technical programmer, systems engineer and manager for industry-leading vendors, she brings practical hands-on experience to the consulting table, as well as broad market perspectives. McAdam is particularly well versed in disk and tape issues and how they can be deployed for effective data mobility, disaster recovery, and business continuity. Prior to joining Data Mobility Group, she led the information logistics practice at Illuminata. Before that, she was a senior client analyst on enterprise storage at EMC and a technical presentation specialist at EMC's Executive Briefing Center. At Hitachi Data Systems, she served as performance and capacity planning systems engineer for mainframe environments and as a systems engineering manager. She also worked at StorageTek as a virtual tape and disk specialist; at Sun Microsystems, as an enterprise storage specialist; and at several large corporations as technical services directors.

Joseph Martins JOSEPH MARTINS, CLIENT SERVICES DIRECTOR & PARTNER

Martins brings a decade of engineering, product management, business development and customer support experience to Data Mobility Group. He is responsible for all areas of the company's business, including expanding existing client relationships, overseeing new business development efforts, and setting the overall tone and direction of the company. Martins began his career as a systems software engineer at Lockheed Martin, the world's second-largest aerospace and defense firm, and later at General Dynamics. He also was a key contributor to the early-stage growth of three successful enterprise content management companies in the defense, healthcare and publishing industries. Prior to Data Mobility Group, he was business development director for research firm Illuminata.

Steve Duplessie STEVE DUPLESSIE, FOUNDER & SENIOR ANALYST

Duplessie founded ESG in 1999. He is recognized worldwide as a leading independent authority on enterprise storage. Prior to founding ESG, he was founder and CEO of Invincible Technologies Corp., a manufacturer of fault-tolerant NAS systems. Prior to ITC, he held positions at Clearpoint Research and EMC Corp.

Nancy Marrone NANCY HURLEY, SENIOR ANALYST

Hurley manages analyst activities across the organization and serves as the primary analyst for Enterprise Storage Management and Storage Infrastructure solutions. She is a seasoned sales and marketing executive, with over 18 years experience in the storage, communications, and networking and computer industries. Prior to ESG, Hurley served as worldwide strategic planning manager for Tektronix Communications' Test Group, where she drove the strategic direction for multiple product lines across the globe. Previously, she was with Hewlett Packard for 10 years in various senior sales and marketing positions, supporting global enterprise and telecommunications customers. She also held a digital design engineer position for a division of Lockheed/Martin.

Jon Oltsik JON OLTSIK, SENIOR ANALYST

Oltsik covers information security, storage service providers and WAN-based storage technologies. Prior to joining ESG, he was founder and principal of Hype-Free Consulting. Oltsik previously served as VP of marketing & strategy at GiantLoop Network, where he managed all external marketing activities and defined the company's strategic vision. Oltsik was also a senior analyst at Forrester Research and has held marketing management positions at Epoch Systems, Clearpoint Research and EMC Corp.

Tony Prigmore TONY PRIGMORE, SENIOR ANALYST

He joined ESG in 2000 and is responsible for corporate operations while maintaining a presence in all practice areas. Prior to joining ESG, Prigmore served as general manager of Berkshire Computer Products, a regional systems-integrator focused on storage and data protection. He also held product marketing, product management, and sales roles at Clearpoint Research and EMC Corp.

Galen Schreck GALEN SCHRECK, SENIOR ANALYST

As a member of Forrester's Computing Systems team, Schreck researches networking, storage and processing technologies and their effects on business. He came to Forrester from 3Com, where he was business manager for a line of WAN and VPN solutions. Prior to 3Com, Schreck was with PricewaterhouseCoopers' Management Consulting Services, where he specialized in networking, security and high-end computing.

Nick Allen is a vice president and research director in Gartner's research organization. Prior to joining the company, he was a senior management consultant with International Systems Services. He has more than 30 years of experience in IT.

Borovick is the program director for IDC's Datacenter Networks program. In this position, she provides market analysis, research and consulting on the datacenter. Borovick has over 16 years of experience in the information technology industry with IDC. Throughout this time, she has maintained a focus on researching and analyzing datacenter networking trends, technologies, products, suppliers and user adoption strategies. She has particular expertise on key technical and business issues concerning optimizing server connectivity and the integration of Web technology into the datacenter.

Gray is responsible for the research agenda on storage subsystems, storage management and subsystem architecture. Dawson is a leading authority on Linux, Unix and Windows infrastructure platforms with end-to-end high availability, robust clustering, and partitioning capability. He also specializes in enterprise storage and server strategies and selection. Prior to joining Meta Group, he was competitive market research manager for Sequent Computer Systems, Europe.
