Features - Storage Innovations:ADDONICS ANNOUNCES 4-PORT, PCI-X SATA II RAID CONTROLLERAddonics Technologies announced its SATA II PCI-X RAID controller -- an integrated, 4-port bus adapter for high performance storage applications, which require maximum I/O performance, RAID data integrity and low CPU usage at a lower cost. The new Addonics controller has been designed to work with the fast 133 Mhz 64bit PCI-X bus architecture to ensure maximum data throughput of 3 Gbps per port. PCI-X technology also ensures hardware investment protection by retaining backward compatibility with the standard PCI bus architecture at the device and driver level. The heart of the Addonics controller is Silicon Image's SATA II ASIC, which provides embedded support for first-party DMA commands for Native Command Queuing, and on-chip hardware RAID. DMA support allows more commands to be processed and frees the CPU for other operations. Together, these features enable the Addonics SATA II PCI-X RAID controller to deliver the fastest speed in the market to meet the demands of a broad range of storage applications, which include NAS, SAN, and RAID Storage Arrays. The Addonics PCI-X controller fits standard desktop cases and low profile systems. The four drives attached to the controller can be configured as RAID 1, RAID 0, RAID 1+0, RAID 1+S or as four individual drives. When combined with the Addonics optional Disk Array 4SA, users can add build a high performance storage system that matches traditional SCSI storage at less than half the cost. The Addonics SATA II PCI-X RAID controller is compatible with DOS, Windows 95, NT, 98SE, Me, 2000 and XP. |
