NETWORK INTELLIGENCE INTEGRATES WITH EMC DANTZ RETROSPECT

Network Intelligence Corp announced a technology integration with EMC Corp that allows the EMC Dantz Retrospect software to provide disk-to-disk backup, recovery and archival of the Network Intelligence Engine and data systems, including open files. Network Intelligence is now reselling Retrospect backup and recovery software with Network Intelligence Engine appliances as part of its SEM solution. This is the first disaster recovery offering in security event management, and it is bundled for the benefit of customers who require fully integrated system protection and backup systems to meet business and compliance needs at an affordable price.

Until now, budget and platform pressures have made disaster recovery on SEM solutions unaffordable for many enterprise companies. By incorporating Retrospect's best-in-class disaster recovery software into its appliance line, Network Intelligence further differentiates its Network Intelligence Engine from software-only solutions, and continues to define industry best practices and deliver enhanced value and feature-rich functionality.

"Network Intelligence recognizes that its customers' initiatives to monitor and report on security logging files would not be complete without the ability to protect the integrity of unaltered logs. With today's real-time dynamic risks to a company's network, the most effective approach to ensure the integrity of log files is to deploy automatic systems that align operational business strategies with compliance mandates for storage and backup of sensitive security logs," said Paul Reymann, CEO of ReymannGroup, and co-author of Section 501 of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) Data Protection regulation.

"Combining EMC Dantz technology and the Network Intelligence Engine creates an end-to-end solution that includes disaster recovery, fueling adoption of high-performance security event management systems," said Tony Barbagallo, senior director of solutions marketing for EMC Dantz.

Customers are now able to complete customized backup policies based on their own risk assessment; for example a full backup every 24 hours, with incremental backups throughout the day.

"All customers hope that they'll never need to rely on a disaster recovery solution -- but hope is not a strategy. Combining industry leading offerings from Network Intelligence and EMC provides a real strategy to protect the security data driving the business," said Matt Stevens, executive vice president and CTO at Network Intelligence.

Automatic disaster recovery and backup will be available to Network Intelligence customers deploying EX, HA and LS series appliances on Nov. 15. Network Intelligence's products enable customers to capture, analyze and manage raw security related data, transforming it into actionable business intelligence. The Network Intelligence Engine SEM appliance is particularly appealing from the end-user's perspective because of its powerful correlation capabilities, plug-and-play deployment and scalability. The appliance creates a complete picture of network usage to verify security policy compliance, generate alerts for possible security breaches and analyze and report on network performance.

Retrospect contains advanced features for disaster recovery and open file backup, with complete protection for networked client computers and large tape libraries with additional add-on licenses.
