Features - Enterprise Data Insights:THE TOLLY GROUP RELEASES REPORT ON PERFORMANCE OF SAN PRODUCTSThe Tolly Group this week published its inaugural report focusing on hands-on testing of storage area network (SAN) technology. The report, commissioned by Maranti Inc, examines the performance of the vendor's CoreSTOR 2000 network storage controller. The Tolly Group continues to bring its expertise and quality benchmark testing into one of the most important areas of IT, storage networking. The SAN field is growing due to new technology that allows heterogeneous connectivity and network-based storage services, offering a cost-effective alternative to proprietary storage array-based services. With regulatory pressures and the need for disaster recovery, many businesses are evaluating how they can leverage network-based data protection solutions within current budget constraints. "The importance of independent testing is critical to the sales process, buyers need to be assured that products meet published specifications," said Rick Walsworth, vice president of marketing at Maranti. "We selected The Tolly Group because they bring integrity, quality and expertise to one of the most important areas of IT infrastructure, which is storage." The Tolly Group also awarded Maranti its First & Foremost certification, which allows vendors to demonstrate technology leadership. Tolly Group engineers certified that Maranti received the "First" Comprehensive Evaluation of a Network Storage Controller certified through the "Tolly Verified" program and "Foremost" performance -- 200,000 IOPS per-port performance on a network storage controller. "As startups like Maranti compete with traditional storage solution providers like Cisco, EMC, Hewlett-Packard, and IBM, it is critical that end-users have independent data to help them make informed purchase decisions," said Kevin Tolly, president and CEO of The Tolly Group. "The Tolly Group prides itself on independent testing that is objective, fully documented, and repeatable." |
