DNF DEBUTS 4200-SERIES NAS APPLIANCES WITH 16.8TB IN ONE CHASSIS

Dynamic Network Factory Inc, a maker of NAS and RAID, unveiled the FlexStor-NAS 4200 and StorBank 4200 Network Attached Storage systems, with configurations up to 16.8TB. Expansion units permit scalability beyond 50TB, while multiple network interfaces ensure reliability and throughput for large centralized storage implementations. The advanced 8U form factor includes independent front-accessible hot-swap drive trays, for uniform heat dispersion on even the hottest-running 10,000RPM drives.

Data stored on a 4200 Series NAS appliance is protected by quad-active controllers, in RAID 0, 1, 5, 10, or JBOD configurations-offering the maximum in flexibility and data redundancy. Multi-site implementations can take advantage of optional block-level storage replication and failback. Moreover, the 4200 Series NAS features snapshot technology to shorten backup windows, by creating images of data changes over a specified interval. This offers dramatic space savings over backup solutions that duplicate all of a drive's data just to capture incremental changes. User-friendly web-based management and configuration interfaces allow administrators to remotely set up and maintain the NAS product from any computer with network access.

The 4200 Series appliance appears in both the FlexStor-NAS and StorBank product lines, developed to serve a range of computing environments. Users familiar with the Windows operating interface will welcome the Windows Storage Server 2003-based FlexStor-NAS 4200. The embedded Linux-based StorBank 4200 NAS is targeted at Unix/Linux or mixed Microsoft/*nix environments, and delivers superior NFS performance, without compromising cross-platform compatibility (including Apple Macintosh).
