Broadcom Corp announced a distribution agreement with Ideal Hardware (the
United Kingdom subsidiary of Bell Microproducts) to offer Broadcom RAIDCore
Serial ATA (SATA) RAID controller cards in the United Kingdom and throughout
Europe.
BROCADE EXPANDS OPERATIONS IN CHINA
The company announced the formation of a Wholly- Owned Foreign Enterprise
(WOFE) in Shenzhen, creating a licensed business structure that provides a
strong base for working with partners and service providers throughout
China.
CBL DATA RECOVERY TECH BOLSTERS OPS IN SAN DIEGO
The growth of CBL's San Diego facility follows on the heels of recent
expansion in Singapore and the opening of a data recovery lab in Japan. CBL
San Diego serves as the company's West coast hub for North America's data
recovery needs and is headed up by CBL's resident tape expert Doug Owens.

EMULEX HBAs AVAILABLE THROUGH NEW EMC SELECT PROGRAM
Emulex Corp announced that its LightPulse HBAs are available from EMC
through the new EMC Select Program. The program offers customers convenient

solutions.
LSI LOGIC FIRST TO SHIP PRODUCTION SAS SILICON TO LEADING OEMs
The 4-port LSI Logic LSISAS1064 is the industry's first single-chip 3 Gb
per second SAS chip to be delivered as a production part. The company will
have an 8-port controller IC in production in October.
RagingWire ENTERPRISE SOLUTIONS PROVIDES ADVANTAGE FOR ZANTAZ
RES, an IT outsourcing provider, worked closely with ZANTAZ to customize a
managed solution that increases the high availability and reliability needed
to accommodate ZANTAZ' 24-7 business operations. The terms of the multiyear,
multi-million dollar contract were not disclosed.

HP outlined its strategy and roadmap to transform the network storage
industry by unlocking the value of information in real time, regardless of
how it was created or where it is stored. Created in HP Labs, the company's
central research facility, the HP StorageWorks Grid strategy is designed to
allow customers to better focus on how they use data, not how they store it.
NEW GROUP FORMED TO CONTINUE SATA SPEC DEVELOPMENT, PROMOTION
Dedicated to sustaining the quality, integrity and dissemination of Serial
ATA (SATA) technology, 40 leading computer component and peripheral
companies announced the formation of the Serial ATA International
Organization (SATA- IO).
SEAGATE, AMCC, MARVELL PREVIEW END-TO-END 3 Gb/s SATA TECHNOLOGY
When it becomes available in future products, the next-generation 3Gb per
second interface speed will prove especially useful to applications like
high- end game development, game playing and game loading; demanding film,
photo and graphics editing and rendering; advanced AutoCAD work; intensive

DENALI JOINS NEWLY FORMED SERIAL ATA GROUP
Denali Software Inc joined the newly formed Serial ATA International
Organization (SATA-IO), and announced two new products for use in the design
and verification of chips incorporating the Serial ATA (SATA) interface
standards.
RESEARCH REVEALS IT DEPARTMENTS UNPREPARED FOR DISASTER
VERITAS Software reported new research findings reveal that 43 percent of
organizations worldwide remain largely unprepared to respond to a major

EMC WIDENS LEAD AS NO. 1 SUPPLIER OF STORAGE SOFTWARE
During the quarter EMC grew storage software revenue nearly twice as fast
as the total market and gained more revenue share than any other supplier to

HARTZ MOUNTAIN CHOOSES FalconStor TO LEVERAGE STORAGE REALTY
Transitioning Hartz Mountain from their previous direct-attached storage
only environment to an IPStor managed SAN infrastructure enabled significant
improvements in the backup process, with the ability to replicate data to
and from remote sites.
STORAGE SOFTWARE HITS $1.85 BILLION IN SECOND QUARTER
EMC and VERITAS posted the strongest results among the top 5 vendors, with
30.5 percent and 23.4 percent year-over-year growth, respectively. EMC led
the overall market this quarter with 32.5 percent revenue share, gaining 3.4
points over the second quarter of 2003.
MAXELL PREDICTS PRICES TO RISE ON SuperDLTtape, LTO ULTRIUM TAPE
Maxell Corp of America said that it believes price increases are
inevitable on all magnetic media products in its data storage, professional
and consumer divisions due to rising prices for raw materials and other
distribution and supply chain cost increases.
