BiTMICRO TO ADVANCE iSCSI TARGET APPLIANCES W/ FLASH DISK TECH

BiTMICRO Networks, a pioneer in IDE/ATA, SCSI, USB, VME, PMC, CompactPCI, FireWire, Ethernet and Fibre Channel intelligent flash disk solid state storage solutions, announced that it will be introducing solid state disk-based iSCSI target appliances.

BiTMICRO is responding to the growing market demand for a consolidated, interoperable and manageable flash-based network storage solution that is scalable over long distances, provides easy connectivity to SANs, allows shared access for multiple users and handles existing user applications with ease.

Under this initiative, BiTMICRO will introduce a family of iSCSI target appliances that fuses several dominant standards, Internet Protocol (IP) and Ethernet for networking and SCSI for data storage. Integrating this solution into existing storage networks allows business enterprises to reap the benefits of SAN without getting bogged down by distance and cost limitations associated with Fibre Channel solutions.

By utilizing the Fibre Channel, Ultra320 SCSI, PATA, or SATA versions of the E-Disk solid state flash disk, the iSCSI appliance also creates ruggedized storage capabilities for extreme industrial and military applications, thereby facilitating iSCSI deployment in remote locations and making it easier to consolidate, backup and securely erase mission-critical data recorded from the field.

Whether used for military, industrial or enterprise applications, a low total cost of ownership is guaranteed since BiTMICRO's iSCSI appliance is COTS/MOTS-based and built upon a widely used networking standard. This combination of features reduces installation and maintenance costs by minimizing the need for extensive staff training.
