LSI LOGIC OFFERS NEW FIVE-PACKS TO BETTER SERVE VOLUME USERS

LSI Logic Corp announced the addition of five-packs to its channel product offering to better serve its VARs, system integrators and volume users. The five-packs simplify large order processing and will provide the channel with built-in bulk discount and a convenient way to maintain a small stocking inventory.

LSI Logic will initially ship the new five-packs with the LSI20320-R, LSI21320-R and 22320-R host bus adapters (HBAs) and the MegaRAID SCSI 320-1 RAID adapter. The new product release extends LSI Logic's package offering to provide a broad array of ordering options for its channel customers. Availability of the five-packs complements the individual Kit packaging released last year featuring LSI Logic Ultra320 SCSI and Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapters and SCSI, ATA and Serial ATA RAID products.

"The popularity of these storage adapter products demanded a new packaging offering for the channel. "Our new packaging builds on the benefits already delivered to our channel partners which now include improved product information, product registration, toll-free technical support and feature-rich partner programs."

The five-packs contain five LSI Logic storage adapters individually sealed along with a separate driver CD for each system. In addition, the five-packs include optional low-profile brackets for the LSI20320-R HBA and MegaRAID 320-1.

The four new five-pack products now available for order include:

• MegaRAID 320-1 SCSI RAID single-channel RAID adapter: Designed with a low-profile (MD2) form factor for high-density, server environments and includes both full height and low-profile brackets.
• LSI20320-R PCI-X, Single-channel Ultra320 SCSI host adapter for increasing storage performance within servers and high-performance workstations with the added performance/reliability of Integrated RAID: disk mirroring (RAID 1) and striping (RAID 0) or both (RAID 1E). It is designed to provide a dedicated connection to Ultra320 disk drives or storage enclosures.
• LSI21320-R PCI-X, Dual-channel Ultra320 SCSI HBA is ideal for applications requiring flexible connectivity with the added performance/reliability of Integrated RAID (0,1 and 1E). With two independent Ultra320 SCSI channels and support for up to 30 devices, the LSI21320-R provides incredible flexibility in system configuration.
• LSI22320-R PCI-X, Dual-channel Ultra320 SCSI HBA is ideal for applications needing maximum connectivity by having two internal 68 HD and two external 68 VHDCI connectors along with the added performance/reliability of Integrated RAID (0,1 and 1E). As with all LSI Logic Ultra320 SCSI host bus adapters, the LSI22320-R supports all previous generation SCSI devices and PCI Bus rates.
