ONTRACK DATA RECOVERY, NetApp PROVIDE E-MAIL RECOVERY SOLUTION

Ontrack Data Recovery announced that it is working with Network Appliance Inc, to provide a joint solution that combines Ontrack's PowerControls software for Microsoft Exchange, with NetApp SnapManager for Microsoft Exchange software. The combined solution, called Single Mailbox Recovery with SnapManager for Microsoft Exchange (SMBR), improves service to internal clients, reduces infrastructure expenses and provides significant time savings for Exchange administrators.

SMBR, a customized version of Ontrack PowerControls Mailbox Recovery Software, addresses the difficulties associated with restoring e-mail from full backups by quickly restoring individual mailboxes, messages, folders, attachments and other elements from existing backup Microsoft Exchange Server database (.EDB) files. With NetApp SnapManager for Microsoft Exchange, customers get a comprehensive yet simplified data management solution for hosting and automating backup and restoration of Microsoft Exchange-based storage groups using Fibre Channel SAN or iSCSI over Ethernet. Together the products provide IT managers with a high-performance tool that slashes restore time, eliminates brick-level backups, and increases availability and reliability, resulting in significant cost and time savings.
