Features - Financial Plays Of The Week:AXS-ONE, SUN TO ADDRESS DEMANDS FOR RECORDS COMPLIANCE MGMTAXS-One Inc, a provider of Records Compliance Management software solutions, announced an alliance with Sun Microsystems. As a result of this agreement, Sun Microsystems will resell the AXS-One Compliance Platform to its existing enterprise customers and new customers in targeted markets. The AXS-One Compliance Platform enables organizations to address the increasingly complex challenges of data retention and supervision for e-mail, instant messaging and other corporate records. As an accredited Sun iForce partner, AXS-One has collaborated with Sun to test and optimize its compliance solution for the Sun platform. The AXS-One Compliance Platform helps regulated organizations meet evolving compliance mandates, including SEC 17a-3 and 17a-4, NASD 3010 and 3110, HIPAA, and Sarbanes-Oxley. It is designed to cost-effectively secure and manage corporate information according to a corporation's complex business policies, while relieving the strain and bottlenecks on corporate mail servers and networks. "Through the iForce Initiative, Sun partners with leading companies to deliver best-in-class solutions that help customers meet their core business objectives," said Phil Morris, enterprise services director at Sun Microsystems Inc. "AXS-One's enterprise compliance solutions, running on the robust Sun platform, address a critical market need for e-mail archival and legal discovery and supervision, allowing customers to address evolving regulatory guidelines." "We are pleased to be working with Sun, and are confident that we'll be able to deliver extremely powerful solutions to help businesses meet their ever-growing compliance and data archival challenges," said Jerry Vendome, AXS-One's executive vice president of sales, marketing and consulting for North America. "I look forward to the exciting opportunities for our organizations as we bring our complementary technology solutions and services to the market. This is another important step for AXS-One in the execution of our Records Compliance Management strategy." "The Sun Microsystems and AXS-One alliance supports the strategy for selecting solutions to address business and technology requirements that together reduce risks and internal costs critical for needs such as industry regulations or legal discovery," said Charles Brett, vice president of META Group. "The importance and level of attention placed on the integration required between content and data with storage infrastructures has increased due to the multiple regulations across various industries and Sarbanes-Oxley's impact on most organizations who conduct business in the United States. Storage and software vendors will increasingly look to build close relationships in order to provide tightly integrated solutions for their customers." |
