FASTORA INTROS ENTERPRISE-CLASS DAS SERVERS

Fastora, a worldwide designer and manufacturer of scalable storage solutions for business and vertical markets, announced its newest DAS (direct attached storage) servers, the DAS-208 and DAS 315. Fastora's new DAS servers provide Serial ATA, SCSI and Fibre Channel technology for high performance data and multimedia storage applications. The DAS servers are now through distribution, VAR, catalog and online channels.

The Fastora DAS Series extends the capacity of existing network servers to protect, maximize and scale with the data needs of any business. The direct attached storage servers directly connect to an existing server to deliver instant, reliable, high performance storage without having to replace or upgrade existing hard drives.

The DAS devices feature a SCSI or Fibre Channel interface and can utilize Serial ATA (SATA), SCSI and Fibre Channel hard drives, supporting RAID 0, 1, 10, 3, 5, 30, 50, 6 and JBOD. The DAS Series also offers hot swappable hard disks, power supply, fan and I/O modules to simplify maintenance and provide the security and reliability of an "always on" back up system.

"Business data and multimedia content continues to expand at an incredible pace, which is dramatically increasing the need for greater capacity on daily basis," said Kit Chui, Fastora sales director. "While many storage appliances are aimed at network connectivity, DAS servers immediately expand the capacity of a primary server without adding the management and financial challenges associated with placing another server on the network."
