Features - Storage Innovations:KASHYA STRETCHES GEOCLUSTER 2,000 MILESKashya announced that it will demonstrate a highly available stretch-clustering solution for Microsoft Windows Data Center servers at the Storage World Conference. A one-of-a-kind solution, it will offer superior data protection across thousands of miles for heterogeneous storage environments, enabling significant improvements in data protection, data integrity, cost efficiency and high availability for the Windows platform. Based on Microsoft Cluster Services and Unisys next generation servers, the Kashya Stretch Cluster Solution will support automated fail over and recovery and data replication over standard IP networks, while using minimum bandwidth and automated system recovery from coast to coast. "The Kashya Stretch Cluster Solution delivers on Kashya's vision for the future of data protection by extending the distance between data centers where highly available enterprise-class Windows clustered servers can be deployed, providing better protection against regional disasters and allowing customers to take advantage of their existing data centers," said Michael Lewin, CEO of Kashya Inc. "Unisys' expertise in the deployment of highly available enterprise-class Windows platforms, combined with Kashya's unique technology for data replication, offers exciting new solutions for data protection with an order of magnitude improvement in the reliability, cost and performance of data protection for the enterprise." In addition to the Stretch Cluster demonstration at SWC, Michael Lewin will be participating in the "Roundtable for Fabric-Based Intelligence." Executives from other leading technology companies will join him at the roundtable to discuss several issues around the movement of intelligent functionality to the fabric level. |
