SANnet II SATA storage systems offer 12 drive bays providing a capacity of
up to 3TB in just 2U (3.5 inches high) of rack space and can scale up to
16TB of usable RAID 5 storage by adding drives and expansion systems.
APRICORN INTRODUCES EZ BUS MINI 1.8-INCH HARD DRIVE
Apricorn's EZ Bus Mini is the smallest external hard drive and disaster

ARIO INTROS FAMILY OF SATA II CONTROLLERS

BROADCOM INTROS ENHANCED SECURITY WITHIN XelCore RAID SOFTWARE
The XelCore RAID software stack features highly effective techniques to
significantly enhance enterprise data security through a combination of data
redundancy, secure backup, and the ability to hide a copy of customer data
from malicious attacks against the enterprise and the network.

DOT HILL RELEASES SANnet II BLADE ULTRA320 STORAGE SYSTEM
The SANnet II Blade Ultra320 storage system has four drive bays with a
capacity of up to 584GB in just 1U of rack space. The Blade Ultra320 easily
integrates into diverse network environments and is compatible with major
platforms and operating systems including Windows, Linux, NetWare and Unix.
HUGE SYSTEMS MediaVault U-320RX PERFORMS IMPRESSIVELY
Huge Systems tested a MediaVault U-320RX dual channel SCSI array with a
desktop workstation running the latest Linux operating system. Configured
with an Intel Westville motherboard, using an onboard Adaptec dual channel
U320 chip set, a standard LMDD benchmark produced a read rate of over 460MB
per second and a write rate of over 380MB per second.

INFORTREND UNVEILS NEW RAID ENGINE, ADVANCED GUI
At Computex Infortrend unveiled its newest RAID engine, its fourth
generation application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) that runs at
266MHz and more than doubles the performance for its EonStor Serial ATA
(SATA), SCSI and Fibre Channel (FC) RAID subsystem product lines.
LightSand, HP CREATE 1,000KM SYNCHRONOUS MIRRORING SOLUTION
This LightSand technology allows the SAN fabric to accommodate the longer
transmission time needed to deliver data across a distance of 1,000
kilometers and can even support distances up to 2,000 kilometers.

LSI LOGIC UNVEILS HIGHEST SPEED DDR-2 SDRAM TECHNOLOGY
LSI Logic's new DDR-2 ASIC core is the first physical layer interface and
I/O buffer to support 333MHz/667Mbps data speeds, enabling manufacturers of
data storage, communications, etc., to take advantage of the memory
technology's superior density, bandwidth and lower cost.
NETWORK APPLIANCE DEBUTS MIDRANGE UNIFIED STORAGE MODELS
Network Appliance Inc announced new additions to its unified storage
platform: the FAS920 and FAS920c. The FAS920 is based on the proven FAS900
series architecture and replaces the F825 storage system, completing the
transition of all NetApp filers to unified storage systems.

NVIDIA DRIVING NEXT-GEN SATA STORAGE TECHNOLOGY TO PC DESKTOP
In conjunction with leading hard drive manufacturers, including Hitachi,
Maxtor, Samsung and Seagate, NVIDIA Corp announced joint efforts to bring
next-generation Serial ATA (SATA) technology into desktop PCs, workstations
and servers.
SILICON IMAGE MULTIPLIES SATA FOR DIGITAL MEDIA, RAID, JBOD
Committed to enabling anytime, anywhere availability of rich digital
content on any device, Silicon Image is defining the architectures,

SILVERBACK, INTEL COMBINE ON iSCSI STORAGE REFERENCE PLATFORM
Silverback Systems Inc is working with Intel Corp on an iSCSI reference
platform that will combine Intel's XScale technology-based processors and
Silverback Systems' iSNAP2110 (storage network access processor) to create a
high-performance, low-cost, reference and design kit.
SUPERMICRO UNVEILS NEXT-GENERATION SERVER SOLUTIONS
Leveraging with the Xeon Extended Memory 64 Technology along with the
Itanium 2, Supermicro is building a strong fundamental for the world's most
complete next generation server solutions based on the 64-bit architecture.

TINTORETTO DISK DRIVE READ CHANNEL ACHIEVES 1.4 Gbps AT 1.5W
STMicroelectronics announced a new read-write channel technology for hard
disk drives that achieves speeds up to 1.4 Gb per second while maintaining
the power dissipation below 1.5W in Read mode at maximum speed.
SUN CHALLENGES ECONOMICS OF NETWORK STORAGE WITH NEW RELEASES
At its quarterly NC04Q2 launch, Sun Microsystems Inc announced innovative
new storage software, systems and highly flexible utility pricing options
that fundamentally alter and simplify the management of data throughout its
lifecycle.

ADIC EXTENDS RELATIONSHIP WITH IBM
Advanced Digital Information Corp has expanded its relationship with IBM
by signing an additional agreement to license part of IBM's tape automation
technology. The companies also signed a patent cross-licensing agreement
covering their respective patent portfolios in the area of storage.
IBM TO MANAGE WORLDWIDE SERVICE, SUPPORT FOR INTRANSA
Intransa Inc announced a contract with IBM Global Services to provide
technical support and warranty repair for Intransa customers, first in the
United States, then worldwide as the company expands into new markets.

MAJOR VENDORS LOOK TO ENABLE SAS WITHIN iSCSI
EqualLogic, a provider of IP-based self-managing networked storage
solutions, is working to combine the flexibility, scalability and
performance benefits of SAS with the embedded intelligence of its
PeerStorage architecture.
NEXSAN, DILIGENT TO OFFER ENTERPRISE-CLASS DATA PROTECTION
Diligent's Virtual Tape Facility for Open Systems (VTF Open) with Nexsan
InfiniSAN ATA solutions enable customers to implement disk instead of tape
in their backup and recovery operations without changing existing policies,
practices or procedures of the existing backup application.

HP NO. 1 IN SERVER SHIPMENTS FOR EIGHTH CONSECUTIVE QUARTER
HP announced that it continued its No. 1 position for worldwide server
shipments for the eighth consecutive quarter, according to first quarter
calendar year 2004 figures released today by IDC. HP was also No. 1 in
revenue worldwide for the Windows, Linux and UNIX server markets.

IBM RANKED AMONG LEADERS QUADRANT FOR STORAGE SERVICES
The 11 companies represented in the Gartner Magic Quadrant range from
hardware manufacturers and independent software vendors to large
outsourcers. North American storage service providers are evaluated based on
their ability to execute storage services and their visions for evolving
them.
INFORMATICA JOINS INTEGRATION CONSORTIUM
Informatica Corp announced it is the first data integration solution
provider to join the Integration Consortium, a non-profit global advocacy
group of users, academics and solutions providers dedicated to driving
measurable business value from enterprise integration activities.

OSTA ANNOUNCES WHITE PAPER ON DVD-R, -RW TECHNOLOGIES
The 49-page white paper, authored by industry expert Hugh Bennett and
available free through OSTA's Web site at http://www.osta.org , answers
basic questions about DVD recordable and rewritable technologies using
simple language and an easy-to-follow format.
WD RAPTOR OUTPERFORMS SCSI 10K, SCSI 15K HARD DRIVES
Maximum PC magazine tested three hard drives for its recent performance
comparison between SATA and SCSI: WD Raptor and Maxtor's 10,000 and 15,000
RPM SCSI drives. The magazine's journalists used Simplisoft's HD Tach 2.61
benchmarking software.

netConsult SELECTS SteelEye LifeKeeper FOR DISASTER RECOVERY
LifeKeeper is being used to ensure complete disaster recovery protection
of netConsult's client's core, business-critical trading systems that
