DOT HILL RELEASES SANnet II BLADE ULTRA320 STORAGE SYSTEM

Dot Hill Systems Corp announced the release of its ultra-compact, 1U (1.75 inches high), "blade" storage system based on Ultra320 SCSI technology. The SANnet II Blade Ultra320 SCSI array is targeted to rack-optimized environments where space is at a premium, while providing higher performance and faster throughput than the previous SCSI interfaces. Dot Hill plans to begin volume production shipments of SANnet II Blade Ultra 320 in June to all customers, including a major OEM customer.

The SANnet II Blade Ultra320 storage system has four drive bays with a capacity of up to 584GB in just 1U of rack space. The Blade Ultra320 easily integrates into diverse network environments and is compatible with major platforms and operating systems including Windows, Linux, NetWare and Unix.

Dot Hill Director of Marketing Omar Barraza said, "The Ultra320 SCSI interface boosts the performance of the new SANnet II Blade system, so it enables even faster access to critical business information. With its small footprint, the SANnet II Blade Ultra320 easily integrates into a rack or a desktop. It can also be used as an external boot or data device for faster access to applications and information than the internal devices in servers."

The SANnet II Blade Ultra320 system delivers carrier-class reliability with redundant, hot-swappable components including fans, power supplies and event monitoring units. As with all the existing SANnet II products, the new Blade Ultra320 system provides 99.9998+ percent uptime and meets the stringent NEBS (Network Equipment Building System) Level 3 standard used by the telecommunications industry and the MIL-STD-810F standard used by the U.S. Department of Defense. And, like the other members of the SANnet II family, it uses Dot Hill's SANscape storage management software providing local and remote management from a single console.
