LATEST INFORTREND SATA RAID SUBSYSTEMS SIMPLIFY EXPANSION

Infortrend announced the addition of the EonStor A16F-R1211 Fibre-attached, dual-redundant RAID subsystem with onboard hub to its line of Serial ATA (SATA) RAID arrays. The A16F-R1211 offers simpler expansion options and fully featured redundant RAID controllers for increased system availability, no single point of failure, and failover/failback capabilities.

Eliminating the need for a Fibre Channel switch when connecting to external host computers, the A16F-R1211 features two 2Gb per second Fibre Channel (FC-2G) host channels on each controller module routed through an onboard hub to four small form-factor pluggable (SFP) modules. Two of the SFP modules connect to host servers and two can act as a daisy chain connection to another EonStor A16F-R1211 RAID subsystem. Alternatively, four host servers can be connected to the RAID array without need for a switch.

For even greater scalability, an additional FC-2G channel can be connected to a drive expansion port, allowing each subsystem to connect to a maximum of seven cascading JBODs, such as Infortrend's new EonStor A16F-J SATA JBOD enclosure, for up to 30TB of data storage when using 250GB hard drives.

"Our new Infortrend-based SecurStor SATA RAID solution is powered by the EonStor A16F-R1211, which proves once again that exceptional performance, data integrity and value come standard," stated Mike Boulter, director of operations at Excel Meridian Data, an Infortrend storage integrator specializing in a complete line of RAID solutions. "We are particularly excited about the new embedded hub which provides increased functionality and cost savings. Add to that the ability to connect the new SATA JBOD solution, and what you have is an extraordinary combination never before seen at this price."

"Infortrend continues to lead the industry in innovative RAID storage design," said Thomas Bayens, director of marketing for Infortrend. "Offering high-end performance features such as an embedded hub and redundant communication channel on affordable storage solutions brings fault-tolerance and massive expansion capabilities to small and midsize enterprise and departmental installations."
