NETWORK ENGINES, BOCADA BackupReport APPLIANCE NOW AVAILABLE

Network Engines Inc, a leading development, manufacturing and distribution partner for storage and security software and network equipment providers, and Bocada Inc announced the general availability of the BackupReport Appliance. The appliance is the industry's first stand-alone server that combines the agentless reporting and analysis capabilities of BackupReport software from Bocada with the simplicity and convenience of a dedicated hardware device that integrates easily into any network closet.

The appliance is available through Network Engines and ships pre-configured to speed deployment into the data protection environment. From across the enterprise, the BackupReport appliance gathers, stores, and presents information vital to the reliability and efficiency of data protection systems. The appliance's ability to extract data from back-up software packages such as VERITAS, EMC (LEGATO), CA, IBM and HP into an open schema SQL database provides users with improved visibility which allows for problem resolution before data is lost.

"Our goal is to ease the pain IT managers face due to the increase in data, escalating security concerns and compliance needs," said Drake Pruitt, vice president of marketing for Bocada. "By partnering with Network Engines, we address these issues by delivering the critical benefits of Bocada software on an integrated, high availability platform that is quickly deployed, easy to manage and affordable to small and mid-sized businesses."

"The Backup Report Appliance exceeds our expectations in terms of performance, ease-of use and functionality," said George Crump, vice president of product development for SANZ Inc, a Colorado-based storage and consulting firm with offices across the United States. "It is critical to our business that we deliver solutions to customers that maximize resources while providing a solution that solves critical issues. The Backup Report Appliance eases the pain of maintaining data security, meeting federal compliance regulations and managing vast data stores in a package that is fast to deploy, easy to maintain and affordable."

The BackupReport Appliance allows enterprises, regardless of size and complexity of the storage network, to increase reliability while reducing data protection costs. BackupReport is the only storage intelligence solution that does not require deployment of software agents. Through four integrated modules BackupReport collects, stores, analyzes and distributes information on data protection operations irrespective of the data protection architecture in use.

"We believe that providing a solution that can give end-users visibility into their backup operations is essential for organizations of all sizes," said Mike Riley, vice president of marketing and strategy for Network Engines. "The appliance does this by supporting the unique reporting needs of many different audiences while making data readily available in a variety of formats, alleviating concerns and resolving visibility issues."
