GST ANNOUNCES LTO-1, LTO-2 TAPE BACKUP SOLUTIONS

GST Inc, a manufacturer of innovative storage solutions, launched backup solutions that marry GST's patented intellectual property-based features with the popular first and second generation Linear Tape Open (LTO) tape technology. Single-drive, dual-drive, autoloader and enterprise library products using LTO-1 and LTO-2 offer read and write speeds up to 4TB per hour, store up to 400GB on an LTO-2 cartridge with compression and backup a terabyte in four hours. GST selected the LTO tape technology manufacturer Hewlett-Packard as the primary source for the raw LTO drives in their LTO product line. Buyers of GST LTO tape solutions will also be able to take advantage of an offer to "buy 10 tapes and get 2 free" through June 30.

"A number of our LTO customers were requesting our patented features including our LCD Operator Panel, Mirrored Backup, and our Backup Consolidation with Virtual Library Partitioning," reported David Breisacher, CEO and chairman of GST. "We found that LTO drives manufactured by Hewlett-Packard were the best fit with our patented tape features. We've placed our LCD Operator Panel on our single and dual drive LTO backup solutions for both datacenter and remote settings."
