RAIDTEC LAUNCHES SNAZ PRO NAS AND SAN APPLIANCES

Raidtec Corp, a leader in NAS and SAN Storage Networking, announced the release of the SNAZ PRO product range complete with fully hot swap SATA drive technology. Powerful, expandable NAS filers, the SNAZ S4 and SNAZ S8 are scalable to over 2TB internal capacity, in compact 1U and 2U rack mount enclosures, and feature enhanced SNAZ OS functionality, at aggressive price points with superior margins.

The SNAZ S4 and SNAZ S8 are full-featured high performance file servers for simultaneous support of Windows and Unix/Linux clients on a LAN. The SNAZ S4 and S8 are optimized for workgroup and departmental applications and are available in capacities ranging from 320GB to 2.4TB with Hot Swappable and Hot Spare SATA drives. LVD SCSI for tape backup is standard on all models. SNAZ S8 provides further expansion options through LVD SCSI, Fibre Channel or FC-SATA drive enclosures. Featuring 10/100 and Single or Dual Gigabit Ethernet LAN connections the new SNAZ S4 and S8 solutions provide blistering performance over 50MB per second per channel sustained throughput for today's busy networks.

Raidtec's SNAZ Pro range is based on Raidtec's storage networking appliance system, SNAZ OS. The key features of the operating system include: Logical Volume Manager; Snapshot; LAN Adapter Fault Tolerance; NDMP; NAS Replication; RAID Levels 0,1,10 and 5; Dynamic Volume Expansion; Fully Integrated Backup Software with Tape Autoloader Support; Error Management and Recovery; WORM function; ACL; and Quota Management and Optimized Network Performance.
