Top Of The News - Hardware:BiTMICRO Revs Up Naval Undersea Warfare CenterBiTMICRO Networks, a pioneer in intelligent flash ATA / IDE, SCSI, USB, VME, Compact PCI, Firewire, Ethernet and Fibre Channel solid state storage solutions, has been awarded a Navy contract to provide the Naval Undersea Warfare Center with rugged storage solutions to support various Navy programs such as situational awareness, command and control, fire-control and surveillance. Through the integration of BiTMICRO's ruggedized E-Disk flash based solid state drives with Compact PCI System, the Navy is able to record important events and details required to analyze tests and use this information to support various torpedo programs. E-Disk devices are designed to withstand the demands of an environment where temperature fluctuations, shock, vibration, dust, moisture or magnetic fields are present. "We have been providing the federal market with our E-Disk flash solid state storage solutions since 1999.
