Tech Data France SAS, a subsidiary of Tech Data Corporation, has announced the acquisition of certain assets of Gennevilliers, France-based Gigatape SA, a value-added distributor of storage solutions to IT resellers in the French market. Founded in 1988, Gigatape SA generated more than 9 million Euros ($9.52 million) in sales during its 2002 fiscal year, which ended December 31, 2002.

Adaptec, best known for its RAID and SCSI host bus adapter business, has acquired established storage systems firm EuroLogic in a deal valued at around $30m. The move is Adaptec's latest attempt to bolster its external storage systems business, and the company says it will enable it to supply OEMs with both block-based direct-attached and file-based network-attached storage systems for the first time.
