    Agere Systems has announced a new multi-protocol platform that enables high-speed serial interfaces for storage applications. This solution allows hard disk drive and system manufacturers to reliably and cost-effectively transition from parallel interfaces to advanced serial interfaces that will dramatically increase the data throughput between disk drives and motherboards in PCs, laptops, consumer electronic devices and high-end corporate storage applications.

    HP STORAGE SOLUTION EXTENDS FIBRE CHANNEL SANs VIA IP NETS
    HP has introduced an Internet protocol (IP) storage solution that enables server and storage connectivity to Fibre Channel storage area networks (SANs) across an Ethernet network.     FUJITSU RETAINS NUMBER TWO POSITION IN ENTERPRISE MARKET
    Fujitsu Computer Products of America Inc (FCPA) announced recently that it grew its markets share in both the enterprise and mobile hard disk drive markets according to data released by IDC. Fujitsu achieved 23% enterprise market share in the fourth quarter -- a 3% increase from the third quarter of 2002 and a 41% increase in terms of units shipped -- continuing its presence as the number two enterprise HDD supplier in the world ahead of Maxtor and IBM/Hitachi.

    Infineon Technologies and Saifun Semiconductors today announced the founding of Infineon Technologies Flash GmbH & Co. KG.     DELL'ORO NAMES INRANGE FASTEST GROWING SAN VENDOR IN 2002
    Inrange Technologies Corporation, a world leader in high-availability, enterprise connectivity and storage networking solutions, has announced that Dell'Oro Group, a leading independent market research and advisory firm, has reported that INRANGE increased SAN switch revenue faster in 2002 than any other major vendor in the Storage Area Network (SAN) market.
