FUJIFILM OFFERS ZIP DISK STORAGE MEDIUM, NOW AT 750 MB

To better serve growing data storage demands in the home and workplace, the Computer Products Division of Fuji Photo Film USA Inc has announced that it is offering Fujifilm Zip 750 MB disks for use with Iomega Zip 750 MB drives. The Fujifilm Zip 750 MB disk, which features scratch resistant storage, can hold the equivalent of 510 floppy disks.

Fujifilm and Iomega developed the original Zip disks using Fujifilm's metal particle coating technology called ATOMM (Advanced super Thin layer and high Output Metal Media) technology. But unlike the original Zip disks which are sold in either PC or Mac format, the Fujifilm Zip 750 MB disk can be formatted for both. It also enables a fast data transfer rate of up to 8 MB/sec through USB 2.0 ports.

"Zip disks have remained popular since their introduction 10 years ago," said James Cito, Product Manager, Computer Products Division, Fuji Photo Film USA Inc. "With the development of more data intensive applications, Fujifilm Zip 750 offers both home and office users a simple and familiar way to back-up large files."

The Fujifilm Zip 750 MB disks will be available in November 2002 through retail and catalog channels.
