DiskSites Inc has announced the availability of W-NAS, a groundbreaking
solution for consolidating branch office file storage. W-NAS was developed
by DiskSites to enable companies with file storage in multiple branch
offices to simply eliminate the need for such file storage, but letting
branch office users work directly with a central file server at the data
center.

OTHER WORLD INTRODUCES 200GB EXTERNAL FireWire DRIVE
Other World Computing has introduced three new Mercury Elite Pro external
FireWire storage solutions featuring the industry's largest and fastest
hardware. The new drives break performance and size barriers with 8MBs of
cache and storage capacities of 200, 180 and 120 Gigabytes (GBs).
IOMEGA SHIPS NEW 720GB NAS
Iomega, the company that earned its reputation by bringing the world 'Zip'
drives, has launched the Iomega NAS P415 in both Microsoft and UNIX
versions, adding a 720GB NAS server to its family of NAS products.
Flex-P ANNOUNCES 1 GIGABYTE TYPE 1 COMPACT FLASH CARD
Flex-P Inc recently announced its 1.0 Gigabyte Type 1 Compact Flash Card,
a result of its successful development of its own patented flash memory
controller chip. Flex-P continues to accelerate towards setting new
standards for flash memory data storage with a solutions roadmap that
includes flash memory/data storage far beyond the 1.0 Gigabyte level.

OKAPI INTRODUCES REMOTE TAPE APPLIANCES UNDER $1,000
Okapi Software, a recently launched iSCSI applications company bringing IP
storage to the enterprise, has introduced its ipXtensionCord remote tape
appliances that operate at 10/100 and GbE network speeds.
PACIFIC DIGITAL INTRODUCES TWO EXTERNAL USB STORAGE PRODUCTS
Pacific Digital Corporation, a leader in storage and multimedia solutions,
introduced two external USB 2.0 storage products at COMDEX this year. The
new products are a fast 52X CD burner and a hard disk drive (HDD) kit,
available with 120, 80 or 60GB.
TEXAS MEMORY SYSTEMS ANNOUNCES AVAILABILITY OF RamSan-220
At the Oracle World Exhibition Hall, Texas Memory Systems announced
general availability for the RamSan-220, a solid state disk leveraging 2Gbit
Fibre Channel to accelerate disk I/O performance for the most demanding
applications.
VERBATIM FIRST TO LAUNCH 4X DVD+R WRITE-ONCE MEDIA
With a recent announcement of 4x-speed DataLifePlus 4.7GB DVD+R media,
Verbatim Corporation became the first media manufacturer to offer DVD+R that
supports 1x, 2.4x and 4x write speeds. At 4x speed (44 megabits per second
or about 36x CD-R performance), a 4.7GB DVD+R disc can be filled to capacity
in about 15 minutes.

StorageTek CANADA TO RESELL AUSPEX NSC3000 CONTROLLER
Auspex Systems Inc has announced a reseller agreement authorizing
StorageTek Canada Inc, a subsidiary of StorageTek, to market the Auspex
NSc3000 Network Storage Controller in conjunction with StorageTek disk
products.
DATA I/O CORP AND M-SYSTEMS COLLABORATE ON DiskOnChip
Recently at Electronica in Munich, Germany, Data I/O Corporation and
M-Systems announced that both companies will collaborate to provide
FlashCORE based programmer support for M-Systems' line of DiskOnChip
products.
FUJIFILM LICENSES THE LTO ULTRIUM FORMAT GENERATION 2
HP, IBM Corporation, and Seagate Removable Storage Solutions, the
technology provider companies (TPCs) for the Linear Tape-Open (LTO) Program,
have announced that Fujifilm is the most recent licensee of the Ultrium
format Generation 2.

NETREON AND UNISYS SIGN STO MANAGEMENT DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT
Netreon Inc recently announced a business relationship with Unisys
Corporation under which Netreon will develop storage management technology
that Unisys will include in future releases of its Storage Sentinel
solutions.
OVERLAND AND ATTO MAKE JOINT STRATEGIC DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT
Overland Storage Inc and ATTO Technology Inc, a worldwide manufacturer of

StorageTek announced recently that is has joined BMC's Software's ACSM

VERITAS SOFTWARE ACQUIRES NTP SOFTWARE'S STORAGE REPORTER
VERITAS Software Corporation, a leading storage software provider,
announced recently that it has acquired NTP Software's Storage Reporter, a
storage reporting product that gives IT managers a detailed view of their
enterprise storage usage and more control over storage management and its
associated costs.

Last week, two technology demonstrations provided a glimpse of the
incredible storage networking power that will soon be available in the
future. IT managers who made the trip to Baltimore for Supercomputing 2002
instead of journeying to the bright lights of Comdex Las Vegas were rewarded
with demos by SGI and StorageTek that pushed the limits of scalability and
speed for storage networking.

Growth in data stored over the past decade has forced radical changes in
storage technology. The switch from direct-attached to networked storage
started in the late 1990s, and is steadily gathering momentum.
