    Fujitsu, a world leader in hard disk drive technology, has developed revolutionary new read head and media technologies that will enable hard disk drive (HDD) recording densities of up to 300 gigabits per square inch (Gb/in2). The new technologies are expected to lead to the commercial introduction within two to four years of 2.5" hard disk drives with capacities up to six times the recording density available today.

    '01 DATABASE SALES NUMBERS FROM DATAQUEST
    IBM took the No. 1 spot last year in terms of total new database software sales from long-time leader Oracle Corp, according to a new report from Dataquest, a unit of technology research firm Gartner Inc. Oracle remains king of the relational database software segment, but slipped because of competition from IBM and Microsoft, Dataquest said.
