Business & Money Trail:

ORACLE/DENDRITE COMPLETE PHARMACEUTICAL CRM SOLUTION

Oracle Corp and Dendrite announced that they have completed their core product integration.

This joint development of an analytically driven customer relationship management (CRM) system for the global pharmaceutical industry delivers a powerful, enterprise-wide solution that lets pharmaceutical manufacturers effectively manage all aspects of customer interactions. Both companies are now actively demonstrating the system to clients and business prospects, and presented additional demonstrations during the recent Oracle AppsWorld in San Diego.

"Pharmaceutical companies are looking to apply more comprehensive knowledge to manage the flow of data and meet their customers' needs," said Dendrite Chairman and CEO John Bailye. "The Dendrite-Oracle system adds significant value by aligning key customer knowledge with the right activity and message -- a primary goal of CRM."

Mark Barrenechea, Oracle senior vice president, E-Business Suite Market Development, added, "The solution unites Dendrite's pharmaceutical knowledge and advanced analytical models with Oracle's leading-edge information architecture, data warehousing, and business intelligence capabilities. It raises the standards for pharmaceutical CRM by integrating technology, industry expertise, and analytically driven components that surpass any competitive offerings."

Pharma-Industry Specific CRM Solution

The integration of the Oracle E-Business Suite with Dendrite's WebForce application, completed at Oracle and Dendrite R&D centers in the United States and United Kingdom, links sales, marketing, and service channels with back-end applications such as procurement, financials, and human resources.

The system utilizes Dendrite's advanced analytics, which gives pharmaceutical companies a powerful new way to drive profits through a deeper comprehension of prescriber behavior and a more timely, relevant sales and marketing response to appropriate physicians. Through sophisticated analysis of anonymous patient drug-dispensing data, received from a consortium of nearly half of the nation's chain and independent pharmacies, drug manufacturers can fully evaluate patient and prescriber behavior patterns. This enables representatives and marketers to target precise messages to the right prescriber at the right time through the right channel.

"By providing a sound understanding of physicians' behavior and needs, Dendrite's sophisticated analytics will help ensure the proper integration of all communication channels between the drug company and the physician -- ultimately ensuring, for the first time, that maximum ROI from CRM is fully achieved," Bailye added.

Open Architecture Permits Flexible, Global Deployment

The global architecture of Dendrite's sales force technology seamlessly integrates with Oracle E-Business Suite 11i. The CRM solution features breakthrough open architecture, enabling customers to implement Dendrite or Oracle products to interface with existing software applications and resulting in a faster, more cost-efficient deployment of complete pharmaceutical-specific CRM capabilities. Through Dendrite's new open business model, clients will now be able to use consulting partners of their choice to fit the Dendrite-Oracle solution to applications they may have previously built.

Commitment to Future Development

Oracle and Dendrite have formed joint pharmaceutical sales and product integration teams, supported by a collaborative marketing program. In addition, both companies have fully committed to integrate future versions of the Oracle E-Business Suite and WebForce and to update their products to reflect opportunities and needs in the rapidly changing pharmaceutical industry.
